Similar to Slack, Discord is a text-based messaging platform that allows you to join (or own) different community groups, called “servers.” Within each server, you can create and join channels, set up member roles, and host audio and video sessions with your members. Users can message with people in channels, small groups, or 1:1.
Tip: Your Discord username will be the same across all the servers you join, so make sure you pick one you like.
The Rally Discord Bot acts as an overlay that allows you to set up additional features across your community server using your social token.
To set up the Discord Bot, you must meet the following requirements:

After you’ve invited the Bot to your server, check the Roles settings to ensure the Bot has a higher permission level than any role you wish to gate.
Then, navigate to the server with the Bot installed and type “/setup” in the chat. This is the first step towards adding commands and functionality to your server. Once you’ve done this, you can find the rest of the Bot setup instructions here.
