<aside> 🔥 Bonfire is one of the most powerful and useful third-party integrations currently available within the Rally ecosystem. Their no-code, drag-and-drop infrastructure allows creators to easily set up token airdrops that can be “claimed” (deposited into a Rally wallet) by clicking a link or scanning a QR code.

What are Airdrops?

“Airdropping” a token means you’re giving it away via a claimable link, direct send, or a QR code, which automatically transfers a set number of tokens from your creator wallet into the user’s wallet. Typically, redemption requires a user to have connected a crypto wallet to the airdrop mechanism; in this case, Bonfire redirects users who are not signed in so they can log in with Rally.

Why Airdrops?

An example we use a lot at Rally is that of airline miles - users must accrue them before they can spend them. Airdrops are an easy way for your community to accrue tokens without having to take too much action or spend their own money. People can claim tokens and then participate in your economy in a low-stakes environment.

Airdrops allow people to experience the access and benefits of your community via gifted tokens before deciding to use their own funds towards purchasing more tokens to reach new milestones. You can also token-gate airdrops, which then requires folks looking to claim the drop to hold a certain amount of Rally or ETH tokens.

Use Cases & Suggestions

The sky’s the limit with regards to how you can utilize airdrops to engage and grow your community. The benefit of both claimable links and QR codes is that they can be shared wherever your community gathers, whether that be via newsletter, Instagram, Facebook, Discord, Slack, etc. - anything can become a promotional space for your token. Below are a few examples of use cases we’ve seen creators lean into.
